When we started making our Christmas album, we were still in an intense shut down from Covid-19. In fact, many of the major decisions made and lyric writing sessions were done over FaceTime. Coming up with melodies over a computer was challenging and took longer than if we were in person. We also had expected to have some creative collaboration with some of our friends on the album, but it fell through. Since we were only writing one original and doing covers for the rest of the songs on the album, we had to come up with ways to make it our own and add our personalities to the design of the album. Our goal was to reflect the Christmas joy we felt as kids, hence the pictures of our childhood Christmases as the album cover. We also wanted to pick songs our families enjoyed singing during the Christmas season. Once things opened up and we could meet in person, the process was still long and a constant thought in the back of our minds. Because we were both in school full time, finding time we were both available to record or create was anything but easy. Regardless to say we are so grateful for how the Christmas album has turned out and hope it brings Christmas joy to everyone in your home!
